Lip Enhancement by Dr. Robinson

Full, Shapely, Well-Defined Lips

It seems that full, shapely, well-defined lips are all the rage lately. If you want a more youthful, sensuous, fresher look to your face, lip enhancement at Robinson Facial Plastic Surgery can give you that and more — a simple filler procedure that makes your lips appear fuller and shapelier.

Injectable dermal fillers such as Juvéderm and Restylane are the most commonly used methods of lip enhancement. The most common products contain hyaluronic acid — a substance that occurs naturally in the human body and, in these fillers, increases the volume and plumpness of your lips.

There was a time when collagen was the most popular dermal filler, but it's far less common now: today's fillers are considerably safer and longer-lasting. Other methods like fat injections and lip implants exist, but results vary and they carry greater risk of side effects — unlike modern hyaluronic acid fillers.

01About the Fillers

Longer-Lasting, Effective Hyaluronic Acid Fillers

The effects of hyaluronic acid fillers typically last about six months. Over time, your body naturally absorbs the filler material and your lips gradually return to where they started — unless you have follow-up treatments. Several hyaluronic acid fillers are available, and they're all injected the same way for similar results; some even contain lidocaine, a local anesthetic.

~6 mo

Typical Duration of Results

Hyaluronic acid filler results generally last about six months before gradual reabsorption. Follow-up treatments every five to six months maintain your fuller lips.

Among the hyaluronic acid fillers Dr. Robinson may use:

  • Restylane® and Restylane-L
  • Restylane Silk
  • Juvéderm® Ultra and Juvéderm Ultra Plus
  • Kybella®
  • Some formulations contain lidocaine for added comfort
Be sure to tell Dr. Robinson if you are allergic to lidocaine before treatment, since lidocaine is used in some dermal fillers as a local anesthetic.
The Difference

What Hyaluronic Acid Fillers Add

A Sensuous Shape

Refined, more defined lip contours and a shapelier overall appearance.

Firmer Structure

Added support and structure for lips that have lost their definition.

Greater Volume

Controlled, natural-looking volume tailored precisely to your goals.

Youthful Plumpness

A fresher, more youthful, fuller pout that softens the whole face.

02Benefits

Benefits of Hyaluronic Acid Fillers

Control lip volume. We control the amount of each injection, so we can determine exactly how much volume is created.

Gradual treatment. Injections can be given gradually over different appointments until the desired results are achieved.

Bumps dissolve easily. Any lumps or bumps created by movement of the lips can be dissolved easily.

Less bruising. Typically there is less bruising and swelling compared to other types of dermal fillers.

Lasting results. Results last up to about six months; follow-ups every five to six months maintain your full lips.

Allergic reactions unlikely. Made from substances similar to those occurring naturally in the body.
